How it All Started...
Planning for Legacy Bible Church began in November of 2014, when a group of four men and four women met to pray and explore the possibility of beginning a new church which would embrace time-honored (“traditional”) worship and in-depth Bible preaching. Over the next two and a half months that Steering Committee met five more times and set a target date of March 1, 2015 for the first worship service. The committee also called Dr. Keith Kunda as the first pastor, serving in a part-time capacity, and Steve Meurer as Director of Music.

Expanding the Vision...
As word of the plan for a new church spread, 44 people committed themselves to become charter members. Hamilton County woke to the largest snowfall of the season on March 1, but the first worship service still took place at Fishers Junior High School, with approximately 50 people in attendance. One week later 100 people attended, and rapid growth followed.
During the summer and fall of 2015 music ministry grew to include a choir and orchestra, attendance continued to increase at Sunday morning services, and a trailer was purchased to move items to and from the school each week. It soon became clear that it was time for a search for a new location, and on November 1, 2015 Legacy Bible Church rented a church building on Greenfield Avenue in Noblesville.
Ministries expanded quickly once the new building was occupied, and in March of 2016 Dr. Kunda’s status was changed from part-time to full-time. Prayer meetings on Wednesday evenings quickly became the Power Plant of Legacy Bible Church, women’s and men’s Bible studies began, and Sunday School classes began on April 10, 2016.

Arriving at Our New Home...
In the fall of 2016 a Future Home Committee was appointed to explore all options for a permanent home for Legacy Bible Church. In early spring of 2017 Sunday morning attendance began to top 200 on a consistent basis. More growth followed, and by the beginning of 2018 it was clear that movement toward a permanent home needed to happen sooner rather than later. In November of 2018 LBC closed on the purchase of 17 acres and a 5000 square foot house on Howe Road in Fishers. The Board of Elders also appointed a Capital Campaign Committee and a Building Committee to work on plans for a move to a newly built facility, to be attached to the existing house. Groundbreaking was held on August 16, 2020, and the building was completed in January 2022 and formally dedicated on February 27, 2022.
It soon became apparent that we needed to expand to include more space for education. A new capital campaign launched in the fall of 2023, forward funding a 9,000 square foot addition with no new debt. The entire addition was built in 2025, and we opened it in December of that year, bringing total square footage to 30,000.

Legacy Today...
In March of 2021 we added the position of Pastor of Student Ministries, which included students of all ages. In 2024 we added the position of Associate Pastor, and in 2025 we added a part-time Children's Director position, changing the Student Ministries position to Youth Pastor, responsible only for students in grades 6 through 12.
After a year of prayer and discussion, Pastor Jake Finney was called in February 2026 to be the second senior pastor. His title is now Pastor Elect, and a gradual transition of two years will lead to him becoming senior pastor on March 1, 2028, when Dr. Keith Kunda will retire after 13 years of service.
